PLANNING YOUR TRIP

Let’s Get Packing

Planning in the most stressful part of travel. You want to see as much as you can and not waste any time trying to figure out in the moment of where to go and what to see. What I find helpful is utilizing social media to see what exactly you want to see and do and then mapping it out. This way you save time during your trip for more important things like food and sight seeing. Don't forget to live in the moment too though! If you plan on renting a car during your travels, try not to obtain one from the airport. These typically tend to be more expensive than if you got a rental that is off of airport property.  Airports usually charge more because of the convenience. Try to find the closest rental place near the airport and you will probably save yourself a couple hundred dollars!

MONEY & TRAVEL

Need Some Motivation?

One of the most important parts of traveling is saving and spending. If you are traveling to a different country,  I would personally recommend that you convert your currency through your bank. This way it is over and done with and they typically have a lower conversion rate than at an airport kiosk or ATM overseas. Of course if you can't avoid it, that's fine too. What I typically do is count all of my funds I have converted and split it between how many days I am there so I know exactly how much money I can spend a day. This doesn't always work of course but it has helped a lot!

Now, if you've never been to Europe, I advise you to carry coins. I accrued them from just buying random trinkets and drinks throughout my day. Most, if not all bathrooms require you to pay and they only take coins (up to 1 euro, from what I saw). My second advice to you, is to carry a bag that sits in the front of you, like the cross-body shoulder bags everybody is wearing these days. Reason being, as I was standing in line at McDonald's (yes, I know, don't come for me. They have different items and I wanted to try it), a woman advised me to keep my bag towards my front due to pick pocketers. I appreciated her advice and soon saw why she had said that. There are a ton of people on the streets of Brussels, and it would be very easy to pickpocket and never get caught.

Anywho, let's get to the good stuff.

 Happy spending :)
