I don't know what it is about gothic cathedrals, but I fall in love every single time. We visited about two or three in Ghent, which are all pretty close together. They are open to the public (while mass is not going on). I highly recommend stopping in at least one and take in the beauty. Each cathedral is older than the next. The breathtaking architecture is something I will never forget. I can't wait to go back!

St. Michael's Bridge

If you don't do anything else but walk around in Ghent, you will be satisfied with it's beauty it's just something you need to see in person because pictures just do not do it justice.
